AN NSF-FUNDED EDUCATOR NETWORK
Building a shared foundation for teaching immunology across disciplines
Teaching immunology better, together
ABOUT
What is ImmunoReach?
ImmunoReach is an interdisciplinary network of educators and scientists united by a shared commitment to advancing immune literacy. The project grew was from a simple observation: although immunology is taught in wide range of educational settings, educators and researchers rarely have opportunities to connect across geographic, institutional and disciplinary boundaries. ImmunoReach was created to bridge those gaps and foster a vibrant, collaborative community.
Through working groups, shared teaching resources, professional development opportunities, and annual symposia, members collaborate on curriculum development, share what works in their classroom, and engage in scholarly discussions about immunology education. Together, they are working to strengthen immunology education, expand access to high-quality resources, and cultivate a more immune-literate society.
- ImmunoReach is an interdisciplinary Community of Practice (CoP) open to any educator who has taught or is interested in teaching immunology relevant topics.
100+ Educators from across the world connected
40+ Colleges and universities represented
6 active working groups organized by focus
5 annual symposia held since the network launched
WHAT WE DO
Three pillars of the network
Community Building
ImmunoReach fosters a welcoming and collaborative community of educators, scientists, trainees, clinicians and policy makers who share a commitment to advancing immune literacy. By creating opportunities for networking, mentorship, and interdisciplinary dialogue, the network helps members build meaningful professional relationships that transcend institutional, geographic, and disciplinary boundaries. Through annual symposia, working groups, and virtual gatherings, members connect, learn from one another, and contribute to a vibrant community of practice.
Scholarship and Innovation
ImmunoReach promotes scholarly work that advances the teaching and learning of immunology. Members collaborate on educational research projects, develop evidence-based instructional approaches, and disseminate their findings through presentations and publications. By supporting innovation and scholarship, the network contributes to a growing body of knowledge that informs effective immunology education.
Resource Development and Sharing
ImmunoReach serves as a hub for the creation, curation, and dissemination of high-quality immunology education resources. Members work together to develop lesson plans, assessment tools, case studies, professional development materials, and other instructional resources that can be adapted across diverse educational settings. By sharing resources and best practices, the network helps educators enhance student learning while reducing barriers to implementing effective immunology instruction.
